Institute for Electrical Drives, Power Electronics and Devices (IALB)
at the University of Bremen
The requirements:
Battery energy storage system for the test bench
Our solution:
50 kWh / 400 kW in a 40 ft. high-cube container, and
two transformers (1 MVA each / 400 V / 20 kV) in a separate 40 ft. high-cube container.

Special features:
This is a test stand. In the future, a hydrogen combined heat and power (CHP) plant will be connected to the system. This will enable, together with a test bench for hydrogen reconversion and energy storage, the testing and optimization of both black start capability and primary frequency control capability of the CHP unit in combination with the battery energy storage system.
