Every donation counts
Anyone who knows FREQCON knows that social commitment is a matter close to our hearts. Especially in the current situation, many charitable institutions are dependent on donations. As our Christmas party did not take place last year, we decided to use the money, we would have used to organize the party, to provide financial support to associations and social institutions. Our employees were asked to submit ideas for their favorite candidates. From about 20 suggestions, 6 winners were selected by voting and each received 500 euros. Our colleagues did not miss the opportunity to hand over the donation checks personally – due to Corona with distance and mask, of course.
Senior physician Johannes Otto from the children’s clinic of the Heidekreis-Klinikum Walsrode was delighted on behalf of his young patients and his team about the donation, which was presented by our team assistant Petra Effinghausen. The donations will be used, among other things, to make patient rooms child-friendly and to equip the playroom of the ward and the waiting area of the children’s ambulance with toys.
Laura Deicke from Purchasing Department presented the donation to the association Hafenmusiker & Puffmusiker in Eystrup, which supports socially and physically disadvantaged children and young people. The money will probably be used for the school bag campaign for children from the districts of Verden, Nienburg and Heidekreis whose parents are short of money for a school bag.
The 500 euros presented by Barbara Engel from Marketing & Sales and Jana Kohlrausch from Production & Electronics to Tatjana Viert from the Löwenherz Children’s and Youth Hospice will be used by the association to finance its running costs. The children’s hospice has set itself the task of offering children and young people with an incurable and life-shortening illness and their families loving care and support.
Great joy also at the Tierschutzhof Geißblatt, which can use the donation very well. The association takes care of homeless cats, dogs, sheep, goats, pigs and equines and offers these animals a temporary home. Our colleague Marco van Dreuten from the Hardware Development Department visited Warpe and handed over the donation.
Personally touched by the fates of homeless people in our country and by the fact that many of them are even more marginalized in society right now, our responsible person for data protection and quality management, Andrea Erdmann, nominated the Homeless Help Hannover for the campaign. The association’s 1st Chairman, Mario Cordes, accepted the donation with pleasure. Together with mainly volunteer staff, he provides food, hygiene articles, clothes, shoes and sleeping bags to people in need in Hanover every day. Due to the Corona measures, the commitment has become even more difficult, because all actions are currently only allowed to take place outdoors.
The Palliative Support Center SFA Walsrode supports terminally ill people and their relatives in maintaining their quality of life as best as possible and enabling them to live a dignified life at home until the end. Our apprentice Lennart Höffges from the Production & Assembly Department has already had experience with facilities like this in the private sphere and for this reason he suggested this institution and handed over the donation. The money will be used primarily to organize entertainment activities.
