Project AdD HyStor
Demonstration of a dynamic, adaptive battery-flywheel hybrid storage system
Subject
Development and demonstration of a modular battery-flywheel hybrid storage system for grid stabilization in Ireland and UK.
Objectives
- Development and demonstration of a modular flywheel system with independently adaptable power and capacity.
- Development and demonstration of a multi source converter that can connect both the flywheel system and the batteries to the grid via a common DC-bus.
- Development and demonstration of advanced control algorithms for optimized operation of flywheels and batteries to ensure ultra-fast frequency stabilization.
